The couple’s initial encounter took place on the set of one of Spears’ music videos back in 2016. They eventually tied the knot in an intimate yet star-studded ceremony in June 2022.
Throughout their marriage, 29-year-old Asghari provided unwavering support to the 41-year-old Spears, particularly during her mental health treatment and her pursuit to end her conservatorship.
Recent speculations about their marital challenges have been prominently featured in US tabloids.
Representatives for both Spears and Asghari have yet to release official statements regarding the separation.
A source confirmed to the Press news agency that Asghari has initiated divorce proceedings.
Sam Asghari, an Iranian-American model and fitness expert, originally crossed paths with Spears during the filming of her music video for the song “Slumber Party.”
He played a significant role in Spears’ legal battle against her father Jamie during the conservatorship ordeal, even donning a “Free Britney” T-shirt on Instagram before a pivotal court hearing.
Asghari proposed to Spears in their shared residence in September 2021. During their engagement, the couple joyfully revealed that they were anticipating their first child, although they later revealed the unfortunate occurrence of a miscarriage.
Their wedding, hosted at Spears’ residence in Thousand Oaks, California, was an intimate and lavish affair attended by notable figures such as Paris Hilton, Madonna, and Drew Barrymore.
In recent times, keen observers have noticed both Spears and Asghari appearing without their wedding rings in public.
As of now, Spears has not addressed the reported separation on her social media platforms. Her most recent Instagram post, which was published after the news circulated, solely discusses her intention to purchase a horse.
