Don Lemon is known for his outspoken and sometimes controversial opinions on social and political issues. He has been a vocal critic of President Donald Trump and has been an advocate for LGBTQ rights and racial justice. However, these days, he is in talks for different reasons. After serving 17 prosperous years at CNN, the Cable television news network has fired him.
This long-serving host Don Lemon and a prominent news anchor says in a post on Twitter, adding that he is shocked about this concerned step. He was not even directly informed of the termination by the network.
“After 17 years at CNN, I would have thought that someone in management would have had the decency to tell me directly. At no time was I ever given any indication that I would not be able to continue to do the work I have loved at the network,” he wrote.
“Don will forever be a part of the CNN family, and we thank him for his contributions over the past 17 years,” CNN’s top boss, Chris Licht, said in a memo to staff. “We wish him well and will be cheering him on in his future endeavors.”

Neither statement provided a reason for Lemon’s parting away from CNN. However, his controversial career has been fathomed to be the reason behind his silent termination.
Why is Don Lemon Fired from CNN?
CNN hired Lemon in 2006. For more than eight years, he hosted the primetime programme “Don Lemon Tonight,” and he rose to fame under the administration of Donald Trump for his commentary on the former Republican president, whom he dubbed a “racist.”
When discussing the ages of politicians on CNN he ignited yet another controversy. This Morning in February with co-hosts Poppy Harlow and Kaitlan Collins, He claimed that 51-year-old presidential contender and former US ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley was not “in her prime”.
Haley referred to Lemon’s comments as sexist and exploited the event to raise money in February. On Monday, she called Lemon’s firing “a great day for women everywhere.”
Trump welcomes this decision by CNN and Lemon’s departure. On his Social Media account, the former president said: “My only question is, WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG?”
