Spotify Announces R&B First Nights Concert Series Featuring Victoria Monet And FLO!

R&B “Rhythm and Blues,” is one of the most loved genres of popular music that originated in African American communities in the United States. It is characterized by its soulful vocals, intricate melodies, and strong, danceable rhythms. Over time, R&B has evolved and incorporated elements of funk, soul, pop, hip-hop, and electronic music. It puts a significant impact on popular music and culture and continues to be a popular genre today. Adding to its fame, Spotify has announced R&B First Nights concert series.

This is a program organized to support all the rising R&B artists by connecting them with fans through a live experience. Through R&B First Nights, Spotify will partner with emerging acts to support their first live show across selected U.S. cities like California and Atlanta.

The Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Victoria Monet will kick off the R&B First Nights Concert.

Location: Victoria Monét will start R&B First Nights in Los Angeles, California.

Date of Performance: On March 31 she will she performing for her fans.

Venue: She will perform at the historic El Rey Theatre.

Rising R&B trio FLO will also be headlining the show on April 13 in Atlanta, Georgia, at Center Stage Theater.

Monét in a statement to Billboard said, “to this day I’ve still never headlined my own show and it’s been a huge dream of mine, which is why this upcoming show with Spotify is so special and important to me!”

“It’s more than a concert: It’s a celebration and kickoff to a new era of my music. Thank you so much to Spotify for what will be an unforgettable night in L.A.! My first headline show of many.”

Spotify will support four R&B up-and-comers’ live shows in U.S. cities along with R&B First Nights and invite their superfans to attend. The streaming service’s latest initiative is supported by Spotify’s Creator Equity Fund. This brand has also recently supported the company’s GLOW program for LGBTQ artists. It is part of the company’s commitment to amplifying artists from historically underrepresented communities.

Some of the most well-known R&B artists you can follow are Marvin Gaye, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Usher, Alicia Keys, and Bruno Mars. This is the first time many will be seeing their favorite artist live in this concert and get connected to them.
