Eiffel Tower BAPS Probe Clears Delegation of Accusations

An official investigation into allegations of gender discrimination during a high-profile visit to Paris has concluded. The newly released Eiffel Tower BAPS probe has officially cleared the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha delegation of any wrongdoing, finding no explicit request was made to exclude female staff members.

The controversy originally made headlines when rumors surfaced claiming that female employees working at the Parisian monument were asked to step aside during a visit by Hindu monastics. However, the comprehensive internal inquiry has put those allegations to rest.

Key Findings from the Eiffel Tower BAPS Probe

According to the official report by the Operating Company of the Eiffel Tower (SETE), the investigation found no evidence of discriminatory demands. The probe concluded that there was absolutely “no explicit request” from the BAPS delegation to remove or reassign female staff during their tour of the monument.

Instead, investigators pointed toward internal operational miscommunication. The staff adjustments made during the visit were the result of internal decisions and preventive coordination by the monument’s management, rather than any pressure or requests exerted by the visiting organization.

Understanding the Operational Misunderstanding

Monks from the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha adhere to traditional vows of celibacy, which include maintaining a respectful distance from women. In many cases, hosting venues attempt to accommodate these spiritual practices voluntarily.

In this instance, the Eiffel Tower BAPS probe revealed that the internal team at the monument acted on their own initiative to respect these practices, which led to a misunderstanding among the general staff. The organization itself has expressed appreciation for the thorough investigation, reiterating its commitment to mutual respect and harmony.
