The 50th Annual American Music Awards was organized yesterday, November 20, 2022, at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, in acknowledgment of the most famous artists in singing and music within the eligibility period of September 24, 2021, to September 22, 2022. Wayne Brady was the host of the show and it aired live on ABC.
Taylor swift was the star of the day as she took six awards to her home including the artist of the year. The night’s prominent nominee, Bad Bunny, scored two prizes from eight nominations, with Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, BTS, Morgan Wallen, Wizkid, Harry Styles, and Tems also taking home a pair of awards.
The best part of the evening was a delightful tribute to Lionel Richie, who was honored with the Icon Award. However, the AMAs had quite a few heavy hitters up for innumerable nominations, and this year a flock of newcomers also made a place. They have been recognized for their incredible work in the music industry with over 40 artists, including Jack Harlow, BLACKPINK, and Latto receiving their first nomination in 2022.
It is also worth perceiving that four fresh award categories were added this year:
Favorite K-Pop Artist,
Favorite Afrobeats Artist,
Favorite Rock Song, and
Favorite Rock Album.
